The Food Service Manager plays a key role in achieving sales, unit, and profit goals by effectively managing food and beverage categories and supporting store profitability. The Food Service Manager at Thorntons LLC will be responsible for preparing food and beverage products ahead of busy periods, following approved product sampling procedures, and ensuring all food safety compliance measures are strictly adhered to. This role requires expert management of food operations, including controlling shrinkage, maintaining gross profit margins, and ensuring the quality and availability of supplies. The manager will also be tasked with accurate inventory counts, ordering stock, and supporting profitability initiatives by analyzing data and identifying growth opportunities. Operating various foodservice and beverage equipment safely and efficiently is essential, along with maintaining a clean and appealing workspace and service areas. The manager will inspect and maintain equipment to ensure they meet cleanliness and operational standards. Beyond daily operations, the Food Service Manager will implement and train new programs, product changes, and quality standards to ensure continuous improvement in food service delivery. Job Requirements
- Food Handler Certifications - as required per state, city or township
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Prior work experience in food service environment with supervisory duties
- Ability to read and understand reports, records, and other business documents
- Working knowledge of product costs and profits to ensure maximum profitability
- Able to use product waste logs or similar company designed programs to establish and manage proper par levels
- Proven ability to manage product inventory including rotation, ordering, and on hand
- Ability to set priorities, organize work and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Food handler certification
- Excellent guest service skills
- Basic food and beverage heating, cooling, preparation kitchen equipment and tools knowledge
- Must be available for early morning and late afternoon shifts

Job Duties
- Prepare food and dispensed beverage products for daily service prior to rush periods as outlined on store PAR
- Follow approved product sampling procedures
- Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance at all times
- Expertly manage food operation including shrink, gross profit, quality and supplies by maintaining excellent food standards
- Accurately count, stock, order inventory and provide data to support store profitability
- Operate various pieces of foodservice and beverage equipment
- Maintain clean and appealing workspace and service areas, empty trash receptacles as needed
- Inspect and maintain equipment to cleanliness and operations standards
- Implement and train program rollouts, product changes and product quality specifications
- Perform additional duties as assigned
