Job Description
Aramark is a global leader in food services, facilities management, and uniforms, proudly serving millions of guests every day in 15 countries worldwide. The company is deeply rooted in service and united by a strong purpose to make a positive impact on its employees, clients, communities, and the planet. With a focus on career development, passion fueling, and professional growth, Aramark offers a dynamic and inclusive workplace environment where employees are encouraged to reach their full potential. The company values equal opportunity and diversity, creating a supportive atmosphere free from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
The Food Service Manager position at Aramark is a management role responsible for overseeing and enhancing dining operations in a setting where customers select prepared meals from a menu. This role is crucial for developing and implementing dining solutions that meet customer needs and preferences while aligning with company standards and client expectations. The position operates on the 2nd shift, approximately from 5:30 pm to 1:30 am, making it ideal for candidates seeking evening work hours.
As a Food Service Manager, you will lead and engage a team, using Aramark's proven coaching model to unlock the full potential of employees. Recognizing and rewarding team members’ efforts, you will ensure that both individual and group performance meet the operational goals and client satisfaction levels set by the company and its partners. You will conduct daily briefings to communicate priorities and updates, maintaining high safety and sanitation standards throughout all operational processes.
Your role will involve close collaboration with clients to identify their needs and keep them informed on operational progress, ensuring that dining services exceed customer expectations. Financial stewardship is an important aspect of the job; you'll be expected to maintain and complete profit and loss statements, meet both client and company financial targets, and use Aramark's systems to understand key performance metrics such as order trends, inventory control, and data analysis. Educating your team on these financial levers will be part of your responsibility to improve profit margins and maintain cost controls.
Operational excellence will be at the core of your duties. This includes implementing efficient processes, adhering to labor and food cost initiatives, and supervising the team in production quality and control. Ensuring that all team members are properly trained and capable of executing their roles successfully is also vital. Compliance with health, safety, wage, and hour regulations is non-negotiable, and you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees alike.
Additional responsibilities include leading the front of the house in cafeteria or residential dining facilities in coordination with the Food Service Director and managing food service activities from planning through to delivery of the final product. Aramark values adaptability and dedication; therefore, duties may evolve or expand to meet changing business needs without prior notice.
Aramark offers an engaging workplace where development, support, and community connection are emphasized. This position not only requires strong leadership and management skills but also interpersonal abilities to build effective relationships with clients and other departments, ensuring a unified food service experience for all. Physical requirements include the ability to handle occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Education-wise, a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
If you are driven by service excellence and eager to lead a team that delivers high-quality dining experiences, the Food Service Manager role at Aramark offers an exciting opportunity to grow your career within a globally respected company. Join Aramark and become part of a culture where your skills and contributions can make a meaningful difference every day.
