Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- must have a valid driver's license or ID
- current Food Handlers Card or obtain one within 30 days
- minimum one year experience in a food service setting
- must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- able to work in a fast-paced environment with constant changes and interruptions
- ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English
- possess strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of main dishes and sides in a large quantity and understand food production terminology and methods
- follow standardized recipes and adjust per desired yield
- able to make changes when applicable but limited to not changing the nutritional value of the meal
- ensures the quality and presentation of food items according to the highest standards by tasting food to ensure palatability according to Texas Public School Nutrition Policy
- must know the required temperatures for all food products
- record amount of food prepared, left over, stored, and dispose of food properly
- inspect, clean, and sanitize equipment and work area properly
