Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license or ID
- Current Food Handlers Card or obtain one within 30 days
- Must have 1 year experience in a food service setting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with constant changes and interruptions
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Possess strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of main dishes and sides in a large quantity and understand food production terminology and methods
- Follow standardized recipes and adjust per desired yield
- Able to make changes when applicable but limited to not changing the nutritional value of the meal
- Ensures the quality and presentation of food items according to the highest standards by tasting food to ensure palatability according to Texas Public School Nutrition Policy
- Must know the required temperatures for all food products
- Record amount of food prepared, left over, stored, and dispose of food properly
- Inspect, clean, and sanitize equipment and work area properly
