Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to perform physical duties including lifting and moving up to 30 pounds
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to follow sanitation and cleaning procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal courteously with students and staff
  • Availability to work 25 hours per week from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Willingness to cross-train on cash register
  • Attend mandatory in-service training sessions

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
  • Demonstrate effective and courteous communication skills
  • Willingness to cross-train on cash register
  • Ability to perform cleaning and sanitation procedures
  • Capability to assist in food preparation
  • Able to lift and move up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work 25 hours per week during specified hours
  • Attend in-service trainings as required

Job Duties

  • Responsible for general food preparation, serving, cleaning, and sanitation procedures
  • Assists with preparing vegetables, fruits, salads, sandwiches, and other menu items
  • Sets up hot and/or cold food areas
  • Serve reimbursable daily menu selections to students
  • Performs cleaning duties, including sweeping floors, cleaning equipment and work areas, dishwashing, and pot washing
  • Assists in receiving and storing food items
  • Willingness to cross-train on cash register
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal effectively and courteously with students, food service department staff, and school personnel
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors
  • Attend in-service trainings as required
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
