Job Description

The role of Food Service Foreman at the Exchange is pivotal in ensuring that food service operations run smoothly and customers receive an extraordinary shopping experience. As a Food Service Foreman, you will lead a team of passionate and skilled Food Service Workers who are dedicated to exceeding customer expectations. This position requires a strong focus on customer engagement and building a positive team culture characterized by accountability and performance excellence. You will be responsible for understanding and achieving sales goals by strategically planning and executing daily and weekly workloads, as well as creating effective schedules that meet both business demands and customer needs.

In this leadership role, you will cultivate a culture of accountability by setting clear expectations and managing performance to uphold critical service and engagement behaviors. Your ability to respond swiftly and appropriately to negative customer experiences will be essential, helping to resolve issues effectively and empowering your team to make decisions that enhance customer satisfaction. The Food Service Foreman will also oversee the preparation and sale of food items, ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene, and food safety compliance are consistently met.

Additionally, you will play a key role in inventory management, including verifying deliveries, quality control, and ordering supplies to maintain optimal stock levels. You will supervise daily operations, drive sales goals, and maintain accounting and operational reports related to the food service area. This position demands excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to lead and motivate a team, and a hands-on approach to managing workloads, especially during peak periods.

Job Qualifications

  • Six months of restaurant or related food service operations experience
  • successful completion of NBFF training or the Exchange Restaurant Operations Management Academy (ROMA)

Job Duties

  • Supervises the preparation and sale of food items during an assigned shift
  • receives, verifies and checks quality of food/supply items
  • estimates and orders food/supplies as required
  • greets each customer upon contact
  • assists customers by listening to needs, offering suggestions and thanking them for their business
  • resolves customer complaints at the lowest level and informs management of barriers to optimal customer experience
  • prepares, maintains, and processes accounting and facility operational reports
  • participates in the establishment and achievement of service and sales goals for the food operation
  • ensures optimum stock availability by supervising or participating in periodic stock counts and inventory updates
  • maintains and controls personnel cost and productivity standards
  • performs duties of subordinate associates as required by workload
  • opens and/or closes the facility in accordance with published policies and regulations
  • ensures security of cash, fixed assets and inventory and complies with fire, safety, sanitation and security regulations
  • initiates work orders for repair and maintenance
  • supervises assigned associates by establishing work schedules, assigning and distributing work, counseling, preparing performance reviews, approving/disapproving leave slips and training associates
  • responsible for enforcement of all name brand fast food and Exchange standards
  • completes ServSafe and applicable fast-food certifications within 90 days of hire
  • keeps abreast of and supports public laws, executive orders and directives relating to Federal Equal Opportunity program within the Exchange
  • performs other duties as assigned
