Job Description

SSA has been a leader in delivering tailored hospitality experiences for over 50 years, partnering with cultural attractions to create memorable guest journeys that integrate admissions, culinary services, and retail. Their innovative approach revolves around combining operational intelligence with a human connection to foster seamless, enjoyable visits for guests. SSA calls this comprehensive approach "452 Hospitality," which forms the foundation for serving its partners and their communities with excellence and care.

SSA is hiring for the position of Food Service Cook, a key role in their culinary operations. Reporting directly to Kitchen Managers, Sous Chefs, and Executive Chefs, the Food Service Cook embodies the principles of 452 Hospitality by delivering warm, welcoming, and memorable experiences to every guest and client. This role involves supporting restaurant preparation duties both in the back of house and on the line to ensure smooth daily operations. The cook must maintain high standards for food safety, quality, availability, merchandising, and guest service while ensuring the proper quantity of food is prepared for daily and ongoing services.

Daily responsibilities include participating in safety logs such as monitoring food temperatures, rotation, and waste management. The Food Service Cook must ensure compliance with food handling safety requirements and uphold personal hygiene and uniform standards. SSA places a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to all SSAFETY rules. The position requires following detailed prep and item lists assigned for each day and efficiently addressing guest and client feedback, escalating issues to supervisors as needed to prevent recurring problems.

Strong communication and teamwork skills are vital, as the cook is expected to actively support operational needs, fill in gaps wherever necessary, and maintain clear communication with supervising staff. Knowledge of menu items, prices, and specials is required to share accurate information with guests. Additional duties may include assisting with dishwashing and other necessary tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. The cook must also uphold and demonstrate a thorough understanding of all company policies and procedures.

Beyond the operational scope, SSA is committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity and belonging within its team. The company promotes removing barriers, empowering growth opportunities, and leading by example in sustainable and conservation efforts. Food Service Cooks are encouraged to engage in community involvement activities and support the brand's focus on giving back.

This position is ideal for individuals with strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Physical endurance to stand for extended periods and handle moderately heavy items is required. The Food Service Cook should be professional, personable, upbeat, energetic, and proactive in their approach to work.

SSA offers competitive compensation, including eligibility for overtime pay, access to an On-Demand Pay Program, employee meal plans and discounts, and participation in a 401(k) program with a generous company match. Additional benefits include tuition discounts, bereavement leave, holiday pay for Christmas and Thanksgiving, and paid sick leave in accordance with state and local laws. These opportunities support employee well-being and professional development across multiple locations, demonstrating SSA’s commitment to its team members.
