Job Description
A healthcare facility located in the Syracuse, NY area is looking for a dedicated and experienced Food Service Director to lead their dietary department. This facility is committed to providing exceptional care and nutritional support to residents, ensuring that every meal served meets the highest standards of quality and health. The Food Service Director plays a vital leadership role in the day-to-day operations of the dietary department. This position requires you to supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring that all food service activities comply with safety and sanitation regulations. You will be responsible for maintaining food quality, overseeing inventory management, coordinating meal services, and implementing training programs for the dietary team. Your expertise will help ensure that residents receive meals that not only meet their prescribed dietary requirements but also contribute to their overall health and satisfaction.
In this role, you will coordinate schedules, assist with payroll preparation, and oversee food storage and ordering processes. Attention to detail, especially in inspecting resident trays for menu accuracy and ensuring cleanliness of all food preparation and dining areas, is paramount. Additionally, you will collaborate with healthcare staff and administration to support special events and continually improve service standards. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in large-scale and therapeutic food preparation, excellent supervisory capabilities, and effective communication skills. Prior certification as a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) is required, with ServSafe or Sodexo certification preferred. Your leadership will foster a team-oriented atmosphere dedicated to excellence in dietary services and resident care.
