The Food Service Director at Trinity Services Group is a full-time position, offering an annual wage of $60,000. This pivotal role involves planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of food service activities within a correctional facility's kitchen. The Food Service Director oversees the operational and financial aspects of the kitchen and manages a team comprising an Assistant Food Service Director, Food Service Workers, and Cooks. This leadership position demands a blend of passion for food service, strong regulatory knowledge, and excellent team management capabilities. Responsibilities include supervising training programs for staff and inmates involved in food preparation, ensuring food safety and quality compliance, managing inventory and ordering processes, and maintaining comprehensive financial and production reports. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Five years of management or supervisory experience in a food service environment
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Knowledge and experience managing and applying kitchen sanitation and safety standards and methods
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and mathematical abilities
  • Availability to work some weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work hours between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise, train, and instruct team members and inmates in general food service practices including preparation, cooking, and serving of food
  • Oversee appropriate food quantities prepared and served according to the facility or site plan
  • Hire, orient, train and issue corrective action to team members
  • Review and approve payroll on a bi-weekly basis
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships through regular communication and proactive problem-solving
  • Coordinate workflow and assign work to team members
  • Ensure compliance with job-related rules, policies, procedures, and security guidelines
  • Maintain accuracy of inventory and complete ordering and reports on time
  • Ensure food items are stored safely and meet health department codes
  • Maintain a sanitary environment and uphold food service quality standards
  • Prepare for state or other inspections of food service operations
  • Participate in contract negotiation and renewal processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
