Job Requirements

Prior food service or cashier work experience
Ability to follow directions, read and communicate in English
Ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, school administrators and related personnel
Computer skills as required for the position
High school diploma or GED preferred
Valid Florida driver’s license preferred
Bilingual skills preferred

Job Duties

Follow daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning
Participate in ongoing state-approved training and educational initiatives
Demonstrate and promote exceptional customer service and professionalism
Operate point of sale according to federal guidelines when assigned
Adhere to food safety rules, departmental procedures and HACCP standards
Perform kitchen duties including pre-preparation, food production, service, backup, clean-up, and check-in orders
Assist with ordering, proper storage and inventory of supplies and food items
Follow written recipes and instructions for food preparation and record time, amounts used, leftovers, and temperature on production worksheets
Operate food service equipment safely
Maintain a clean work environment including garbage and waste disposal
Ensure sanitation practices and personal hygiene standards
Ensure compliance with federal and state Food and Nutrition Program standards
Perform necessary cleaning tasks not requiring climbing
Drive vans and refrigerated/freezer trucks between sites for food delivery
Promote compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and proficiency
Review current developments and technical information related to job responsibilities
Ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures
Follow federal, state laws and School Board policies
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee
