In this role as the Food Service Teacher at The Primrose School of Midland at Westridge, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to the overall development and well-being of the children through nutritious and healthy meals. This position is integral to the school’s mission of building a brighter future for all children by fueling them properly for their daily learning experiences. Your primary responsibility will involve preparing delicious, nutritious foods that encourage children to develop healthy eating habits naturally and joyfully. You must maintain vigilance regarding food allergies and dietary restrictions, ensuring the food service environment is safe and nut-free, reflecting the school’s commitment to health and safety. Working closely with the Director, you will assist with menu planning and food ordering, balancing the needs of children with budget considerations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food preparation or service
  • Ability to identify and manage food allergies
  • Attention to detail and safety standards

Job Duties

  • Encourage healthy eating habits through delicious and nutritious foods
  • Maintain a keen awareness of children who have allergies and food restrictions
  • Ensure food service area and food are free of nuts and nut products
  • Follow the daily menu prepared in collaboration with or by the Director
  • Assist with ordering food and calculating the amount needed
