Seasonal hiring is currently underway for the position of Food Service Associate/Busser at Lamy’s Diner, which is situated within the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. As a Food Service Associate, you will play an essential part in creating memorable guest experiences in a charming 1947 diner setting. This position involves greeting guests warmly, delivering exceptional service, and performing various duties such as cashiering, bussing tables, and managing the ice cream counter. The role requires a professional and courteous demeanor while ensuring food safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence in all tasks. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age
  • weekday, weekend, evening and holiday availability
  • requires some high school or equivalent experience
  • must be customer service focused with a hospitable demeanor
  • must be able to work outdoors throughout all seasons, including exposure to both sunny and adverse weather conditions as required
  • period-appropriate attire is mandatory for food services associates dependent on location assigned
  • duties may involve working in non-air-conditioned environments
  • must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • must be able to lift, carry, and push items occasionally, up to 25 lbs
  • must demonstrate strong mental focus, including observation, analysis, interpretation, decision-making, and multi-tasking abilities
  • must be able to work efficiently under pressure and around large crowds while providing excellent guest service

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age

Job Duties

  • Serves food in a variety of daily food services operations
  • performs opening and closing tasks as assigned
  • handles cash accurately and efficiently
  • possesses knowledge of menu description and can effectively communicate them with guests
  • ensures an outstanding guest experience
  • interacts with guests and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner
  • assumes responsibility for cleanliness of assigned areas in keeping with the health and sanitation guidelines
