The role of Restaurant Cashier at Adventist Health Bakersfield plays a vital part in supporting the hospital’s dining services. The position primarily involves operating the restaurant point of sale system efficiently to manage customer transactions, ensuring that all orders are prepared and delivered promptly to meet patient and visitor needs. This role also includes stocking restaurant supplies, maintaining cleanliness in food preparation and service areas, and upholding high standards in food inventory management. The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for setting up the dining environment, cleaning public areas, and assisting with the kitchen’s routine tasks such as washing utensils, peeling and cutting fruits and vegetables, and operating dishwasher and other kitchen equipment. This multifaceted position is essential to ensuring a positive dining experience for patients, staff, and visitors by providing attentive service and maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas. Employment is full-time and typically includes adherence to required health and safety protocols, such as possessing SERVSAFE certification or equivalent as required by California state regulations.
