The Henry Ford is currently excited to announce seasonal hiring opportunities for its Food Services team, specifically at the Village Outlets located throughout Greenfield Village. These outlets consist of several iconic food service locations including the Frozen Custard Stand, Mrs. Fisher’s, Sir Jonathan Bennett’s Sweet Shop, Owl Night Lunch Wagon, and Cotswold Cottage Tea Cart. As a Food Service Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting daily food service operations, providing prompt, courteous, and professional service that enhances the guest experience. Your work will support special events such as Halloween Nights, Holiday Nights, and Salute to America, where the ability to deliver exceptional guest service is paramount. Associates working during these events may have the exciting opportunity to wear period-appropriate attire, adding to the immersive historical experience.
In this role, you will act as a brand ambassador for The Henry Ford, effectively communicating menu details while utilizing positive sales techniques to engage guests. Your professional and friendly interactions with both guests and team members will ensure the highest standards of customer service, food safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence are maintained. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will help maintain a welcoming environment that reflects the spirit of innovation and hospitality The Henry Ford is known for. This position offers a meaningful way to engage with history while developing skills in customer service and food operations within a respected cultural institution.

Job Requirements
- must be at least sixteen (16) years of age
- some high school or equivalent experience
- weekday, weekend, evening and holiday availability
- ability to work outdoors in all seasons
- ability to wear period-appropriate attire as required
- ability to work in non-air-conditioned environments
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift, carry, and push items up to 25 lbs
- strong mental focus and multi-tasking abilities
- ability to work efficiently under pressure and in large crowds
Job Qualifications
- must be at least sixteen (16) years of age
- some high school or equivalent experience may be relevant
- weekday, weekend, evening and holiday availability
- enthusiastic and possess good communication and oral skills
- self-starter with knowledge of suggestive selling techniques
- strong communication and customer service skills
- customer service focused with a hospitable demeanor
- ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
Job Duties
- serves food in a variety of daily food services operations
- performs opening and closing tasks as assigned
- handles cash accurately and efficiently
- possesses knowledge of menu description and can effectively communicate them with guests
- ensures an outstanding guest experience
- interacts and communicates with guests and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner
- possesses knowledge of sales techniques
