The Food Service Associate position at Henry Vilas Zoo represents an exciting opportunity to join the SSA Group team in providing excellent food service within a unique and engaging environment. Reporting directly to the Food Service Supervisor or Food Service Operations Manager, the Food Service Associate plays a critical role in the daily operation of food services, ensuring that every guest enjoys a memorable and safe dining experience. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food, maintaining quality and safety standards, supporting the front of house and kitchen line operations, and adhering to SSA Group's strict hygiene and safety protocols. This role demands high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude to effectively respond to guest feedback and contribute to team success.

Candidates for this position should be at least 16 years old, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while standing for extended periods and handling physical tasks such as lifting boxes up to 35 pounds. Flexibility regarding working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential to meet operational needs. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 16 years old
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes (10-35lbs) as necessary to operation, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above
  • ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed

Job Duties

  • perform the steps of 452 hospitality to ensure a memorable experience for every guest and client
  • support restaurant prep (foh and line) for daily operation
  • meet daily quick service, food service, safety and quality, availability, merchandising and guest service standards
  • participate in safety logs including food temperatures, rotation and waste as necessary
  • ensure proper uniform, hygiene, hand-washing and glove use with self
  • maintain a ssafe work environment by abiding to all ssafety rules
  • follow through daily prep and items lists, as assigned
  • actively help to support operation in assigned role, supporting holes as necessary
  • actively and efficiently respond to guest and client feedback, with report to the supervisor to ensure that any potential complaints are mitigate against further occurrence
  • communicate up to the restaurant supervisor and/or food operations manager in regard to any issues seen with daily service or quality
  • remain knowledgeable of all menu items, prices and specials for sharing with guests
  • perform other tasks as deemed necessary
  • maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
  • uphold and demonstrate a complete understanding of company policies and procedures
  • responsibly geared towards presenting a clean and welcome experience for guests through upholding sanitation requirements
