Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • three years experience in quantity food production, preparation and service
  • valid Manager ServSafe Certificate
  • ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
  • ability to maintain sanitary food preparation environments
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • three years of experience in quantity food production, preparation and service
  • valid Manager ServSafe Certificate
  • ability to follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Procedures (HAACP)
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • experience with food service systems and point of sale technology
  • leadership experience or capability
  • knowledge of health and safety food regulations

Job Duties

  • Assemble, prepare, cook, package and serve appropriate quantities of food for the central kitchen and elementary school
  • complete and maintain records and reports for foods prepared, items sold and accountability
  • plan production schedules and provide work direction to Food Service Assistants
  • assemble, clean and prepare food items, make salads and prepare fruit cups
  • cook, bake and assemble food items according to menu and production records
  • set up serving areas and stock serving lines
  • operate computerized point of sale system and input student prepaid account information
  • track meals served by eligibility category
  • maintain work and serving areas in a sanitary manner
  • store unused food items according to health standards
  • operate commercial kitchen equipment safely
  • conduct on the job training for Food Services personnel
  • attend meetings and in-services as needed
  • participate in development of recipes and menu items
  • receive vendor deliveries and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • conduct daily and monthly inventories
  • perform other related duties as assigned
