This role is for a Part Time Permanent Food Service & Dishwasher Associate based in Jacksonville within IKEA's Food & Restaurant department. The position offers between 12-20 hours per week, requiring weekend and night availability, with a competitive pay range from $17.58 to $24.83 per hour depending on experience. This role is crucial to maintaining the operational excellence of IKEA Food by upholding high standards of food preparation, safety, and customer service. The associate will prepare and maintain IKEA’s food menu according to the company’s rigorous health, food handling, and sustainability standards, ensuring honest, healthy, and delicious offerings to customers. The role also involves responding to customer inquiries, handling sales transactions with accuracy, and maintaining clean, organized dining and play areas.

Responsibilities include managing the Swedish Food Market through merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and sanitation standards, ensuring all food solutions reflect accurate pricing and supply management using first in, first out (FIFO) protocols. The associate will also be responsible for equipment maintenance, food safety compliance, and contributing positively to the inclusive IKEA culture. Beyond the functional tasks, this position supports the company’s vision by helping serve more than 660 million customers annually in a friendly environment that blends modern tastes with Scandinavian heritage.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handler Certification or Card as required by local jurisdiction
  • Ability to work 12-20 hours per week including weekends and nights
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Experience handling cash transactions
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusive workplace culture

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years related experience
  • Experience in high-volume customer-facing environment preferred
  • Experience in high-volume retail environment with merchandising knowledge preferred
  • Food Handler Certification or Card required within 30 days of employment

Job Duties

  • Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items according to standards
  • Respond to customer inquiries and process sales transactions accurately
