Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service or cafeteria operations preferred
  • Ability to follow food safety guidelines and USDA regulations
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights

Job Qualifications

  • Basic math skills for meal counting and inventory tracking

Job Duties

  • Serve breakfast and lunch to students following USDA meal pattern guidelines and portion control standards
  • Assist in the preparation of simple food items under the direction of the Cafeteria Manager
  • Set up serving lines, steam tables, milk coolers, and utensils in compliance with food safety standards
  • Ensure accurate counts for meals served, including alternate meals and special dietary requests
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and serving area by following HACCP guidelines
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to safety standards
  • Dispose of waste and food items in accordance with ADE and local sanitation codes
  • Participate in required training for food safety, civil rights, and USDA compliance
  • Engage with scholars respectfully and promote positive cafeteria behavior
  • Report any food safety, student behavior, or health concerns to the Cafeteria Manager or school leadership
  • Assist with inventory tracking and stocking of supplies as needed
