Front Porch emphasizes resident satisfaction, well-being, and engagement, creating a warm atmosphere where every individual feels valued and well cared for. This reputation extends to their dining services, where they prioritize excellent customer service and quality dining experiences as part of their comprehensive care approach.
The role of a Server at Spring Lake Village is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of hospitality and service that Front Porch is known for. Under the supervision of the Dining Room Manager, the Server is responsible for ensuring that residents, their families, and employees enjoy a positive and memorable dining experience. This position is both customer-facing and service-oriented, requiring the ability to interact warmly and professionally while efficiently managing service duties. Servers play a key role in creating a friendly and attentive dining environment where guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and relaxed.
Servers must possess a basic knowledge of food service and demonstrate attentiveness to guests' needs throughout the meal. Responsibilities include preparing tables with necessary utensils and napkins, replenishing condiments, and ensuring the dining area maintains a clean and orderly appearance. They stay updated on menu offerings, assist guests with menu selections, communicate dietary needs to kitchen staff, and perform minor cleaning tasks as needed. The role also involves active participation in special events and flexibility to cover for absent staff members when necessary.
Safety and compliance form an integral part of this position. Servers follow all federal, state, and corporate policies, including health codes related to food handling and preparation. They are expected to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and adhere to safety protocols to create a safe environment for residents and staff alike. This includes wearing required safety equipment and reporting any hazards or incidents to supervisors promptly. Furthermore, Servers must be familiar with emergency protocols, including fire and disaster plans, and participate in mandatory training sessions to stay well-prepared.
This part-time position offers a competitive pay range of $22.56 to $25.00 per hour, reflecting the candidate's experience and qualifications. The role provides an opportunity to work in an enriching environment where interpersonal skills and a passion for customer service can flourish. The ideal candidate for this role will have some previous experience in a food service capacity and hold a valid Food Handlers' certification from the local health department. While a high school education is essential, a bachelor's degree and additional related experience are considered advantageous but not required.
Joining Spring Lake Village as a Server means becoming part of a community committed to making a positive difference in the lives of its residents. Employees at Front Porch are part of a diverse and inclusive organization that values equality and provides equal employment opportunities to all candidates regardless of background. New hires must complete a pre-employment physical, physical abilities test, drug screening, and criminal background check as part of the onboarding process. This dedication to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction makes Spring Lake Village a rewarding place to build a career in hospitality and senior care dining services.
