Job Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • stand and move within kitchen area for 6 to 7 hours excluding break and lunch periods
  • ability to bend and stoop for cleaning duties

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Maintain good housekeeping practices for the dining facility
  • sweep and mop floors
  • clean woodwork, walls, windows, tables, and serving equipment
  • wash dishes, glasses, silverware, cooking vessels, and utensils
  • perform bussing services and ensure condiments and napkins are refilled
  • remove trash and garbage to disposal area ensuring recyclables are separated and placed in correct disposal container
  • unload subsistence and supply trucks, procuring storage from storeroom or refrigerators as requested
  • clean restrooms, entrance areas, dining room, and surrounding areas up to 50 feet around the building including back dock area
  • serve customers at the direction of Cook I or Manager for correct portions and menu combinations
  • occasionally prepare and serve cold cut sandwiches, wrap pastries, serve on the serving line, and prepare salad bar items
  • perform other duties as assigned by the Food Sanitation Specialist Leader or Manager on duty
