Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, the company operates in over 250 plants and is committed to safeguarding the food supply chain by eliminating risks to ensure families can eat without fear. The organization emphasizes a culture of safety, ethics, teamwork, and innovation as part of its core mission to protect what matters and advance a safer future for all. The Food Safety Sanitor role is an essential position focused on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within food production environments. This entry-level role involves performing sanitation labor by following a structured and verified eight-step sanitation process consistently. The sanitor is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting plants while adhering to strict food safety policies and personal safety protocols. This position works a night shift from 11 pm to 7 am, six days a week, with a pay rate of $16.50 per hour. It requires physical stamina to stand, lift, crouch, and work in environments that may be wet, hot, or cold, always while wearing the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, face shields, aprons, and boots.
The successful candidate must demonstrate safety awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to take direction and work cooperatively with leads and management to ensure compliance with sanitation procedures. Handling sanitation chemicals safely is a key element of the job, requiring adherence to prescribed PPE and protocols. The role also demands exposure to diverse environmental conditions, making adaptability and resilience important qualities. Fortrex Solutions provides comprehensive training programs and opportunities for career advancement, emphasizing the development of life skills and professional growth. The company fosters a unique, family-like culture where teamwork and collaboration are at the forefront, making employees proud contributors to the national food safety mission.
Additionally, Fortrex Solutions is committed to equal employment opportunities and provides reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities, ensuring a supportive and inclusive workplace. The company offers competitive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, 401k retirement plans, paid holidays, paid vacation, employee assistance programs, and ongoing training and development opportunities. If you are passionate about upholding the safety standards in food production and eager to join a respected leader in the industry, Fortrex Solutions invites you to apply and become part of their dedicated team protecting America’s food supply each day.
