Job Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience working in operational food safety
- Proven experience managing food safety compliance in a multi-site environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP/Department of Health guidelines
- Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) and/or Food Safety Professional (CP-FS) certification preferred
- Experience developing and evaluating food safety training programs
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership, guests, and public
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and SOPs
- Demonstrates professional judgment and assesses situations effectively
- Strong time management and organizational skills

Job Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in food safety or related field preferred
- Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) and/or Food Safety Professional (CP-FS) certification preferred
- At least three years of experience in operational food safety, particularly in a multi-site environment with highly perishable foods
- Demonstrated knowledge of HACCP principles and Department of Health guidelines
- Experience developing, delivering, and evaluating food safety training programs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical documents and government regulations
- Ability to write clear reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures
- Excellent professional judgment and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Collaborative team player with the ability to build trust-based relationships
- Adaptability to changing environments with strong flexibility
- High level of self-motivation and initiative
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Job Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure food safety regulatory compliance across the organization
- Develop and maintain comprehensive food safety protocols and standards aligned with federal, state, and local regulations
- Conduct regular store audits, identify food safety issues, provide feedback and training to team members and leadership
- Foster a culture of food safety excellence by mentoring and coaching team members on best practices
- Lead and manage companywide food safety training programs covering proper food handling, personal hygiene, allergen identification, labeling, and sanitation
- Ensure compliance with Washington State Food Safety Manager Certification requirements and maintain accurate product labeling and recipe management
- Act as subject matter expert on product labeling and safe production standards, including shelf-life assessment and organoleptic testing
- Ensure compliance with licensing, insurance, and vendor standards related to food safety
- Manage product recalls, ensuring regulatory reporting compliance and effective communication
- Oversee maintenance and sanitation programs to mitigate risks related to sanitation, supplier control, equipment, chemicals, and pest management
- Manage digital food safety platform for audit tracking and action plan assignments
- Investigate and respond to food safety incidents, analyzing data and recommending improvements
- Stay current on industry trends and regulations, advising leadership accordingly
