Job Description

This position is with a leading food manufacturing company specializing in snack foods, recognized for its commitment to quality and safety. The company operates with a focus on innovation, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence, providing a dynamic work environment where food safety and quality are top priorities. With a reputation for delivering high-quality snacks, the organization places a strong emphasis on compliance with food safety regulations and continuous improvement throughout its production and warehousing processes.

The role of Food Safety Quality (FSQ) Manager - Snacks, Warehouse, and Sanitation is essential in maintaining and advancing the company’s food safety and quality standards across the snacks production floor, finished goods warehousing, and sanitation systems. This leadership position manages the sanitation team and works closely with operations teams to ensure effective execution of sanitation standards. The FSQ Manager acts as the site leader for all food safety and quality matters, taking ownership of compliance with HACCP, PCQI, and preventive control programs. They also investigate and resolve any nonconformances, customer complaints, and environmental findings related to food safety.

The Food Safety Quality Manager’s responsibilities include overseeing warehouse food safety practices such as allergen control, storage safety, and traceability, ensuring these practices align with internal standards and regulatory requirements. The manager plays a key role in driving consistency and accountability across operations by partnering with warehouse and production teams to maintain and improve sanitation and quality practices.

In addition to leadership over sanitation programs including SSOPs and master schedules, the FSQ Manager leads the environmental monitoring and sampling strategy, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented when needed. The role requires a proactive approach in improving hygienic design, preventive controls, and overall cleaning effectiveness within the manufacturing environment.

The FSQ Manager uses data analytics to support continuous improvement efforts, preventing recurring issues and minimizing waste. They track key performance indicators (KPIs), foster a culture of safety in line with OSHA standards, and lead ongoing efforts to enhance site performance. Leading, coaching, and developing the sanitation and quality teams to achieve high performance forms a large part of this role, alongside serving as the company’s subject matter expert and training resource for implementing and sustaining effective food safety and sanitation systems.

The position operates in both office and manufacturing settings, with approximately 25 percent of the time spent in the office and 75 percent on the production floor. The candidate should be prepared to work in an environment that may expose them to dust, odors, and moderate noise. Occasional travel to co-processors and vendor facilities is also required to ensure supplier compliance and support continuous improvement across the supply chain.

This Food Safety Quality Manager role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional passionate about food safety, quality assurance, and team leadership in a fast-paced snacks manufacturing environment. Candidates should be prepared to contribute significantly to product integrity, plant hygiene, and customer satisfaction through diligent management of food safety and sanitation programs.
