Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, animal/meat science, engineering, or related field
- minimum 5 years food safety and quality leadership experience in USDA-regulated food manufacturing
- HACCP certification
- PCQI certification
- experience with SQF or other GFSI schemes
- comprehensive knowledge of FSMA, USDA FSIS, and FDA regulations
- proficiency in SPC, root cause analysis, and CAPA management
- strong leadership and communications skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, animal/meat science, engineering, or related field
- master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of food safety and quality leadership in USDA-regulated food manufacturing, RTE preferred
- HACCP certification
- PCQI certification
- experience with SQF or other GFSI schemes
- strong knowledge of FSMA, USDA FSIS, and FDA regulations
- skilled in SPC, root cause analysis, and CAPA management
- proven leadership capabilities in training, coaching, and team development
Job Duties
- Lead HACCP, preventive controls (PCQI), SSOPs, allergen control, and environmental monitoring programs
- maintain readiness for USDA, FDA, SQF, and customer audits
- manage findings and corrective actions
- trend and report food safety and quality performance metrics
- drive continuous improvement through data analysis
- oversee traceability, recalls, incident investigations, and regulatory/customer documentation
- manage supplier approval and incoming material quality programs
- train and develop food safety and quality staff
- support plant-wide food safety culture and competency
- collaborate with operations, engineering, R&D, and maintenance to ensure food safety and quality is built into processes and equipment changes
