Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, animal/meat science, engineering, or related field
  • minimum 5 years food safety and quality leadership experience in USDA-regulated food manufacturing
  • HACCP certification
  • PCQI certification
  • experience with SQF or other GFSI schemes
  • comprehensive knowledge of FSMA, USDA FSIS, and FDA regulations
  • proficiency in SPC, root cause analysis, and CAPA management
  • strong leadership and communications skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, animal/meat science, engineering, or related field
  • master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of food safety and quality leadership in USDA-regulated food manufacturing, RTE preferred
  • HACCP certification
  • PCQI certification
  • experience with SQF or other GFSI schemes
  • strong knowledge of FSMA, USDA FSIS, and FDA regulations
  • skilled in SPC, root cause analysis, and CAPA management
  • proven leadership capabilities in training, coaching, and team development

Job Duties

  • Lead HACCP, preventive controls (PCQI), SSOPs, allergen control, and environmental monitoring programs
  • maintain readiness for USDA, FDA, SQF, and customer audits
  • manage findings and corrective actions
  • trend and report food safety and quality performance metrics
  • drive continuous improvement through data analysis
  • oversee traceability, recalls, incident investigations, and regulatory/customer documentation
  • manage supplier approval and incoming material quality programs
  • train and develop food safety and quality staff
  • support plant-wide food safety culture and competency
  • collaborate with operations, engineering, R&D, and maintenance to ensure food safety and quality is built into processes and equipment changes
