The Food Safety and Quality Manager role at the Wayland, MI site is integral to upholding the company’s standard of excellence. As this site specializes in the production of private non-dairy creamer products, the role demands high vigilance and adherence to strict food safety and quality assurance protocols. The manager will be responsible for overseeing, implementing, and maintaining various Quality Assurance (QA) programs such as Formula Control, Allergen Control, Non-Conforming Product management, Recalls, Food Safety Plans, and pest control systems to ensure the products meet or exceed regulatory and company standards.
This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead the development and management of comprehensive sanitation programs ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the production environment. The manager will define and enforce best laboratory practices and quality policies, ensuring full compliance with company, state, and federal sanitation regulations. Collaborating with Research and Development (R&D) teams, the manager will contribute to product improvements, cost-effectiveness, and oversee plant testing operations. This role also emphasizes leadership development, where the manager coaches and mentors quality and sanitation supervisors and delivers food safety training to employees across all levels. Conducting quality and sanitation audits, analyzing technical data to find trends and corrective actions, and supporting quality systems initiatives are critical responsibilities of this position.
The Food Safety and Quality Manager will serve as the primary liaison to regulatory authorities, including USDA, FDA, and third-party auditors, ensuring the site maintains compliance and readiness for audits. The anticipated salary range for this role is $97,500 to $146,300 annually, reflecting a commitment to competitive compensation that corresponds with qualifications, experience, and performance. This position is on-site and primarily scheduled for the first shift with some flexibility to support alternate shifts.
Joining TreeHouse Foods means becoming part of a team that offers a comprehensive benefits program from day one, including 401(k) with employer match, extensive paid time off including vacation and parental leave, tuition reimbursement, robust training programs, and inclusive employee resource groups. It is an exceptional opportunity to build a rewarding career in quality assurance within a company committed to the highest standards in food safety and quality.
