Job Description

Our establishment is a vibrant and fast-paced dining venue dedicated to providing guests with an exceptional culinary experience. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dependable Food Runners to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in bridging the gap between our kitchen operations and guest satisfaction, ensuring that food is delivered accurately and promptly.

As a Food Runner, you will be the vital link that connects the kitchen and guests. Your daily activities will be centered around maintaining a smooth flow of food from the kitchen to the dining area. This role requires constant movement and a keen eye for detail to guarantee that every dish leaves the kitchen complete and is delivered to the guest on time, meeting their expectations. You will be responsible for describing dishes to guests, addressing their needs promptly, and accommodating special requests to enhance their dining experience. Additionally, you will support servers by assisting with side work during quieter periods and help keep the workstation clean and organized. Your role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of service and hygiene, contributing to the overall efficiency and positive atmosphere of the restaurant.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Good physical stamina to carry trays and move quickly
  • Attention to detail
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar food running or restaurant role preferred
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and kitchen staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of menu items and ingredients
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Read tickets, finish plates and run food or delegate to a team member
  • Describe dish being dropped at the guest's table and ensure they are satisfied before returning to the kitchen
  • Retrieve any items guests may need to accompany their meal
  • Assist servers in side work during down times
  • Be sure station is set with all items needed by both the BOH and the FOH
  • Maintain a clean workstation
