The Food Runner position at Omni Corpus Christi Hotel is a vital role responsible for ensuring guests receive prompt, courteous, and efficient service. As a Food Runner, you will be the link between the kitchen and dining areas, delivering food and beverages accurately and in a timely manner. This role requires a strong understanding of the menu and food presentation standards, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with guests, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Attention to detail and a friendly, helpful attitude are essential to enhancing the overall dining experience. Food Runners must be willing to learn table and seat numbering systems to ensure precise delivery and be knowledgeable about food preferences and allergies to assist guests adequately. The role also includes responsibilities such as bussing duties, station maintenance, setup and breakdown, and other tasks assigned by the restaurant manager. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a fine dining environment, possess excellent customer service skills, and hold valid TABC and Food Handlers certifications. A flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays is required. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in food service or bussing preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Strong communication skills
- Valid TABC certification
- Valid Food Handlers certification
- Ability to follow food safety and handling standards

Job Duties
- Servicing all guests in the dining room to ensure the best possible experience
- Comply with attendance and punctuality standards
- Comply with uniform standards
- Understand bussing standards completely
- Have a complete understanding of the menu
- Deliver food and beverage accurately and timely
- Learn to utilize table and seat numbers for food delivery
- Be friendly and helpful using guests' surnames when possible
- Comply with food handling standards
- Communicate to guests as needed
- Explain food to guests when serving after training
- Communicate effectively with bartenders and kitchen team
- Learn basic knowledge about food preferences and allergies
- Work as a team player striving for excellence
- Complete all assigned duties before clocking out
- Inspect and maintain cleanliness and presentation of pool bar station
- Perform station setup and breakdown
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the restaurant manager
