Job Description
The Inn at Opryland, A Gaylord Hotel, is a distinguished hospitality establishment located in Nashville, Tennessee. As part of the prestigious Gaylord Hotels portfolio under Marriott International, this hotel offers a unique blend of Southern charm and modern luxury, creating an extraordinary environment for guests. Known for its commitment to exceptional service and unforgettable experiences, the Inn at Opryland is a leader in the meetings and events space, hosting a wide array of gatherings from business conferences to festive celebrations. With its prime location on Music Valley Drive, the hotel attracts a diverse clientele seeking both relaxation and entertainment in the heart of Nashville.
This job opportunity is for a Food Runner/Busser position within the Food and Beverage department, designed to elevate the guest dining experience through attentive service and operational support. The role is a part-time position, paying $15.00 per hour, and includes the additional benefits of being tip eligible and bonus eligible, with a stock package available. This position is vital to ensuring that food and beverage operations run seamlessly, enhancing the overall guest experience.
As a Guest Service Support Expert, the Food Runner/Busser is instrumental in maintaining the flow and efficiency of the dining areas. Responsibilities include setting tables to hospitality standards, assisting the kitchen team by running food orders to guests promptly, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, and replenishing necessary supplies throughout the shift. This multifaceted role requires strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. It involves physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting objects up to 25 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance, bending, twisting, and reaching overhead, all of which contribute to the dynamic nature of the job.
Safety and professionalism are core priorities for this role. The Food Runner/Busser must adhere strictly to workplace safety protocols, follow company policies and procedures, and uphold quality standards at every interaction. Maintaining a professional appearance and communication style aligns with the hotel’s prestigious brand image and contributes significantly to creating memorable guest experiences.
This position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, but no prior related work experience is mandatory. Previous experience in a food and beverage environment is considered a plus but not essential, providing an excellent entry point for individuals eager to develop their careers in hospitality. The Inn at Opryland values team members who are creative, dedicated, and enthusiastic about delivering big-hearted service — qualities that are highly encouraged and supported within the company culture.
Joining Gaylord Hotels means becoming part of a global network under Marriott International, with access to diverse career paths and professional growth opportunities. The company prides itself on fostering an inclusive workplace that celebrates the unique backgrounds and talents of all associates. Equal opportunity employment practices ensure that all team members are welcomed and valued without discrimination, reinforcing a supportive, dynamic work environment. This Food Runner/Busser position exemplifies the company’s commitment to excellence, teamwork, and guest satisfaction, offering both immediate and long-term benefits to motivated individuals. With every shift, team members are not just delivering food and beverages but also crafting memorable moments that embody the spirit of hospitality that defines The Inn at Opryland and the Gaylord Hotels brand.
