The Busser role is crucial in maintaining the smooth flow of service and ensuring guests receive the best possible experience. As a Busser, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the dining area by clearing tables quickly and effectively, resetting them to welcome new guests, and assisting with dishwashing duties to ensure all dishes, glassware, and utensils are clean and ready for use. The busser supports the serving staff by refilling beverages, delivering food orders, and providing general assistance as needed to help deliver top-notch service. This collaboration fosters a positive work environment where communication and teamwork are key.
Additional responsibilities include regular cleaning and sanitization of floors, counters, and equipment to meet health and safety regulations, stocking necessary supplies such as napkins, condiments, and utensils, and becoming knowledgeable about the menu to answer guest inquiries and make suitable recommendations. The role demands adaptability, as busser staff need to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to align with the restaurant's operating schedule. Job Requirements
- Must be at least sixteen years old
- able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- capable of standing for extended periods and lifting at least 15 pounds
- ability to perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and reaching
Job Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for providing excellent customer service
- keen eye for cleanliness and ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment
- demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting
- excellent verbal communication skills
- must have a valid Food Handlers Certification
- ability to learn cash register software such as Aloha, Hot Schedule, Paylocity
- prior experience as a busser or similar role preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Clearing and resetting tables promptly and efficiently
- assisting in dishwashing duties including sorting and stacking
