The Food Runner role is an essential position within the dining operations of Heritage Hotels & Resorts. This role involves supporting the restaurant team by delivering food orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests’ tables. A Food Runner plays a vital role in maintaining the flow of service, contributing directly to the creation of memorable dining experiences. This position demands a reliable, service-oriented individual with a strong attention to detail, an ability to work effectively under pressure, and a commitment to upholding high standards of food presentation, sanitation, and guest service.

Food Runners are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and professional presentation within the dining area, ensuring table settings are correctly prepared, and courses are delivered efficiently. They work collaboratively with servers and kitchen staff to anticipate and meet guest needs during all stages of service, especially during peak periods. Communication skills are crucial as Food Runners must relay information regarding order status and guest requests clearly and professionally. Additionally, this role requires compliance with all company safety, security, and hygiene policies and maintaining confidentiality regarding client and guest information.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience or training required
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environments
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Current New Mexico Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods in a humid kitchen and dining environment and frequently lift push pull and carry up to 30 plus pounds

Job Duties

  • Maintain a high level of positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests
  • Deliver food orders from kitchen to tables quickly and accurately
  • Comply with nutrition sanitation and safety standards at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness and professional presentation of the dining area
  • Maintain table settings by delivering courses replenishing utensils and being alert to beverage needs
  • Assist servers and kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow
  • Communicate clearly with kitchen and service staff regarding order status and guest needs
  • Support service operations during peak business periods
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean organized work area and professional appearance in compliance with uniform and grooming standards
  • Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of proprietary client and guest information
  • Perform other duties consistent with the functions of this position as needed at the property
