This full-time position is ideal for individuals passionate about providing impeccable service within a luxury dining setting. The Food Runner plays a critical role in ensuring that guests receive their meals timely, accurately, and with attention to the presentation standards that reflect the Five-Star quality of the establishment. In this role, the Food Runner acts as the bridge between the kitchen staff and the guests, helping to maintain smooth operations and a memorable dining experience. This position requires a blend of speed, precision, and a service-oriented attitude, supporting servers and kitchen staff in delivering excellence during every shift.\n\nCandidates must be flexible in their availability to adapt to the restaurant’s scheduling needs. Ideal applicants possess at least one year of experience working in a full-service restaurant environment, with prior experience in luxury food and beverage settings highly desirable. As part of the team, the Food Runner will assist with table setup and clearing, maintaining cleanliness of service areas, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation protocols. Emphasis is placed on professionalism, cooperation, and a keen eye for detail, all contributing to the seamless dining service for which the Boston Harbor Hotel is known. Job Requirements
- At least one year of experience working in a full-service restaurant
- Flexibility to work a seasonal full-time schedule from May through October
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs regularly
- Proficiency in English with good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
Job Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in a full-service restaurant
- Experience in luxury food and beverage environments preferred
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service-ware
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic computational ability
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs regularly
- Thorough knowledge of food and beverage service
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Second language skills are desirable
Job Duties
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
- Ensure that food presentation meets restaurant standards and confirm order accuracy before delivery
- Assist servers and kitchen staff with coordination and communication to ensure high-quality service
- Support table setup and clearing between courses or after meals as needed
- Refill water, bread, and condiments throughout the guest's dining experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and the expo line
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines and maintain a clean work environment
- Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and a service-first attitude at all times
