The Food Runner position at San Manuel Casino and Resort is an integral role within the Food and Beverage department that ensures the flawless delivery of dining services to guests. Under the direction of the Food and Beverage Supervisor, the Food Runner works closely with servers and kitchen staff to expedite food orders efficiently, maintain smooth communication between front-of-house and culinary teams, and uphold the highest quality and presentation standards of dishes served. This position plays a key role in creating an organized and timely dining experience by assisting servers in delivering food, managing table settings, and responding promptly to guest needs and requests. The Food Runner is expected to greet guests warmly, maintain cleanliness and order in assigned areas, and ensure food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed.
This is a fast-paced and demanding role requiring both physical stamina and excellent interpersonal skills. The Food Runner must be able to work under pressure during busy periods while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and a friendly demeanor. Attention to detail is critical, including accurately identifying guest seat numbers, appropriately garnishing plates, and meeting special requests without compromising quality or service standards. The role also demands a commitment to safety protocols, including obtaining and maintaining food handling certifications and complying with health regulations. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- minimum three months of related experience or training preferred
- must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- must be able to perform simple mathematical operations
- must be able to manage cash transactions accurately and securely
- must provide friendly and efficient service to guests and team members
- must have clear and effective communication skills
- must be able to work under pressure
- obtain and maintain a current Food Handler's Card
- obtain and maintain TIPS certification upon employment
- may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license at the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission

Job Duties
- Greets guests and provides a welcoming experience at their table
- efficiently expedites food tickets and ensures that high-quality dishes are delivered to the correct tables
- ensures plates are properly garnished and food quality standards are met
- identifies guest seat numbers and announces dishes
- offers condiments and non-alcoholic beverages
- organizes and arranges table settings
- bags to-go orders and meets special requests
- ensures rounds are continuously completed in their assigned section
- buss and resets tables throughout the shift
- maintains communication between guests, front-of-house staff and culinary team
- ensures cleanliness, organization and preparedness of workspaces
- cleans, sanitizes and polishes kitchen equipment
- complies with health and safety requirements including food safety and sanitation standards
- performs other duties as assigned to support department operations
