Job Description
Our client is a prestigious club in the Food & Beverage sector known for providing exceptional dining experiences to its members and guests. This establishment prides itself on maintaining high standards of service, quality, and professionalism, fostering a welcoming environment where team collaboration is key. As a vibrant and member-focused club, it strives to blend culinary excellence with warm, efficient service to ensure every dining occasion is memorable and enjoyable. This club operates seasonally and offers an engaging work environment that supports growth and teamwork among its Food & Beverage staff.
The Food Runner position is a vital role within the club's Food & Beverage team, reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Managers. This seasonal, non-exempt, hourly role is compensated at $18.00 per hour and is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic dining settings. As the essential link between the kitchen and front-of-house teams, the Food Runner's primary responsibility is to ensure that food is delivered accurately, promptly, and in line with the club's culinary and presentation standards. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently to maintain the smooth flow of service.
The Food Runner supports the service team by carefully matching food items to orders, confirming the accuracy and quality of each dish before delivery, and assisting with timely order flow management in the expo line. Beyond merely delivering food, the Food Runner contributes to the overall guest experience by ensuring every plate is presented with attention to detail, including garnishing and cleanliness of plates. They play an integral part in managing to-go orders, labeling and organizing them to guarantee accuracy and completeness for takeout or delivery.
In addition to food delivery, the Food Runner assists with setup and breakdown for buffets and special events, maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout the shift, and completes necessary side work and team support duties as required. Being proactive and flexible, they step in to help teammates and ensure that service operations run smoothly, especially during busy periods. With a commitment to upholding food safety, sanitation, and quality standards, the Food Runner also participates in pre-shift lineups, communicates any challenges or delays to management, and consistently provides courteous and attentive service to all members and guests.
This position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand and walk for long periods, carry trays of food, and lift items up to 25 pounds. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, with varied weather conditions that demand adaptability. Shifts often include evenings, weekends, and holidays, emphasizing the need for reliability and punctuality. The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, team-oriented attitude, clear communication skills, and a willingness to learn the club’s menu items and service standards to enhance the overall dining experience.
Overall, the Food Runner role is an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking seasonal employment in a respected dining establishment where they can contribute to exceptional service quality, develop hospitality skills, and be a key team player in delivering memorable food service experiences to club members and guests.
