The Food Runner position at Aramark is a vital role within the kitchen team, responsible for ensuring efficient operations and high standards of meal preparation and service. Working closely with the kitchen manager, the Food Runner assists with food preparation, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and manages daily reporting related to meal preparation and cash receipts. This role requires a proactive approach to coordinating meal components, timely serving of food, and maintaining organized, clean, and safe kitchen workspaces. The Food Runner is also responsible for handling cooking equipment properly, adhering to uniform and personal protective equipment policies, and supporting menu coordination efforts to ensure an exceptional dining experience for customers. This position demands physical stamina as it involves lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods. A strong focus on food safety compliance and hygiene is essential to uphold Aramark's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • Food service certification
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods
  • Adherence to uniform policy and wearing prescribed personal protective equipment
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and complete tasks quickly and accurately
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred though not required

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality meals and baked goods in accordance with the menu
  • Document and verify daily transactions and meal prep activities
  • Ensure all components of a meal are properly accounted for and prepared
  • Ensure proper and hygienic storage of food to prevent spoilage and contamination
  • Serve food to customers in accordance with the designated meal times and operational procedures
  • Proper handling and maintenance of cooking tools with particular care for sharp utensils
  • Ensure all food and beverages are prepared and ready promptly for service
  • Use garnishes to enhance the presentation and appeal of the dishes served to customers
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining refrigerators, freezers, and cooking equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety protocols ensuring cleanliness, safe food handling, and proper storage
  • Strictly follow the uniform policy and wear the required personal protective equipment when necessary
  • Work with the manager to ensure accurate menu preparation and coordination each day
  • Ensure all food is stored and served at the correct temperatures for safety and quality
  • Keep work and storage areas organized and sanitary at all times
  • Maintain hygiene in all workspaces including steam tables, counters, and appliances
  • Perform tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing to maintain cleanliness
  • Ensure garbage is disposed of properly and kitchen floors are cleaned and sanitized regularly
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned including supporting various sections of the kitchen
