Job Description
Oak Hill Country Club, established in a prestigious setting, is renowned for its commitment to providing an exceptional member and guest experience within an impeccably maintained and high-standard club environment. As a distinguished club in the hospitality and service industry, Oak Hill Country Club offers a unique blend of tradition and modern service excellence. The club features various amenities and dining options, including the 1901 Grille, a premier dining venue known for its welcoming atmosphere and quality cuisine. Oak Hill Country Club values professionalism, teamwork, and dedication to quality in every aspect of its operations. The club fosters a supportive environment where employees can develop their skills and grow their careers in hospitality.
The Food Runner position at Oak Hill Country Club is a seasonal role primarily based within the 1901 Grille, designed for individuals who are at the early stages of their hospitality careers. This role is particularly suited to those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a keen eye for detail and presentation. Food Runners serve as a vital link between the kitchen and the front-of-house service team, ensuring that meals are delivered promptly, accurately, and presented professionally to enhance the overall dining experience. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and a strong sense of urgency.
Food Runners are responsible for transporting dishes from the kitchen to the dining room, verifying that orders are complete and neatly presented, communicating dish names clearly, and maintaining cleanliness and organizational standards at service stations. Additionally, they assist with the preparation and restocking of bread, soups, sauces, and side items, support servers as necessary, and help maintain the dining room’s order by clearing and resetting tables and service areas. At the end of shifts, Food Runners break down and clean service stations and report any service or equipment concerns to management to ensure smooth operations.
Employment is seasonal, aligned with the club’s operations, with flexible scheduling options available. Based on performance and interest, there is an opportunity for employees to transition into part-time, year-round roles. Compensation is competitive, reflecting experience, and the club provides training to ensure all team members meet service standards and operate safely and hygienically. This position offers a foundational experience for those looking to build fundamental hospitality and service skills in a respected and professional atmosphere. Staff members benefit from working in a collaborative team environment where their contributions directly impact the member and guest experience positively, encouraging growth and continued employment beyond the initial season.
