Currently, the company is seeking a dedicated Production Manager to join its dynamic team. This role is vital in managing the production operations and team members to ensure that the departments consistently provide the best product offerings and complete meal solutions. The Production Manager will work closely with operational staff to uphold high standards of quality and efficiency, fostering a culture of leadership, hospitality, teamwork, and excellence.
The position requires a leader who can handle the fast-paced environment of early morning production and is passionate about delivering first-class guest experiences. Managing key inventory and product preparation functions across several departments, the Production Manager will oversee stock rotation, manage product shrink and damage, and ensure adherence to food safety protocols and company policies. This role involves significant interaction with team members through training and development programs like The Fresh Market Academy, aiming to build strong skills for excellent guest service while maintaining product safety and efficiency.
Moreover, the Production Manager is accountable for creating efficient team schedules that align with guest shopping hours, leading to optimal guest satisfaction and operational flow. The role also demands strong leadership and coaching capabilities to motivate and retain high-performing teams. Candidates should expect a schedule primarily running from 3 am to 11 am, typically with Sunday and Wednesday off, to meet the operational demands of the store.
Ideal candidates will bring at least one year of progressive management experience within supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills along with basic proficiency in POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office suite. Candidates should also have or be willing to obtain food safety certification post-hire. Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
- Proven ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience while achieving performance goals
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office suite
- Food safety certification or ability to obtain post-hire
- Must be 21 years of age or older
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in business, retail management, or related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in grocery, fresh food retail, hospitality, or high-volume specialty retail environment
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and financial reporting
- Bilingual skills a plus
Job Duties
- Direct, manage, and assist all functions of the production department and demonstrate excellence for your team and guests
- Manage the production for key items to support deli-cms, meat-seafood, bakery, and produce departments
- Properly receive and stock goods following rotation standards when replenishing product levels
- Manage product to reduce shrink and damage
- Direct teams to handle, cut, and prepare a variety of the department's meat, cheeses, bread, prepacked produce, and convenient meal solutions while maintaining quality product levels
- Provide team members through The Fresh Market Academy, including on-the-job and online training, to provide excellent guest service safely and securely while maintaining efficiency and minimizing product loss
- Lead, engage, motivate, and manage team members to provide excellent guest service
- Provide coaching for team members to further their development and increase retention
- Create and manage team schedules, aligning production to support guest shopping hours to ensure guests receive a first-class experience
- Ensure department adherence to all safety requirements and protocols, including food safety per TFM policies and per law
