The Fresh Market is a specialty grocery retailer committed to delivering a unique and exceptional shopping experience by focusing on high-quality fresh foods and outstanding customer service. Known for its distinctive market-style ambiance and premium product selection, The Fresh Market provides an inviting environment where guests can find a diverse array of fresh produce, meats, seafood, bakery items, and convenient meal solutions. The company’s mission centers on making everyday eating extraordinary for customers through warm, welcoming, and memorable interactions that emphasize personal service and product excellence.

As a leader within The Fresh Market team, the Production Manager plays an essential role in upholding the company’s standards and enhancing the guest experience. This position is responsible for managing the production department’s operations, ensuring high-quality standards in food preparation, and maintaining efficient processes to support multiple departments including deli, meat and seafood, bakery, and produce. Working closely with the Store Operations Manager, the Production Manager fosters a culture of leadership, hospitality, and teamwork while driving results through motivation and development of team members.

This role is a fast-paced, early morning position that demands exceptional organizational skills and a passion for excellence. The Production Manager oversees the entire production cycle, from receiving and stocking goods with proper rotation, to preparing and handling a variety of fresh items such as meats, cheeses, breads, and convenient meal solutions. Ensuring minimal product loss and shrinkage is key, as is maintaining consistent product quality per The Fresh Market’s standards.

The Production Manager is also responsible for coaching and training team members through comprehensive programs like The Fresh Market Academy. Training encompasses both online and on-the-job experiences designed to enhance guest service, promote safety, and boost operational efficiency. Leadership responsibilities include scheduling, performance management, and adherence to food safety regulations and store policies. This position demands strong communication skills to engage employees effectively, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment.

In terms of schedule, the Production Manager role requires availability from 3 am to 11 am, typically with Sundays and Wednesdays off. This ensures production aligns with guest shopping hours to deliver a first-class experience. The Fresh Market values candidates with proven leadership expertise, a commitment to guest satisfaction, and the ability to manage operational goals efficiently.

Joining The Fresh Market comes with competitive benefits tailored to support employees’ financial wellness, health, and work-life balance. These benefits include team member discounts, early wage access, 401K contributions with company match, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance options for employees and their families, as well as personal time off and opportunities to purchase additional time off. Employees also enjoy access to exclusive discounts on pet insurance, daycare, event tickets, and more, creating a well-rounded compensation package.

The Fresh Market is an equal-opportunity employer deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The company provides reasonable accommodations in compliance with applicable laws to ensure that all team members have equitable access to employment opportunities and support. This position offers an exciting chance to lead a dynamic team in a vibrant retail environment focused on quality, service, and community impact.
