The Food Production Manager role at Aramark Healthcare+ specifically focuses on managing food production and kitchen operations at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. Reporting directly to the Chef Manager, this position plays a crucial part in ensuring that food services operate efficiently, meet Aramark’s stringent standards, comply with healthcare and safety regulations, and provide outstanding service quality. The role involves overseeing multiple service points including patient feeding, retail food operations at the front of the house, and catering services.
This managerial role requires a hands-on approach to planning, administering, and directing all food production related activities. The Food Production Manager is responsible for managing food costs, maintaining food safety protocols, controlling waste, training, and supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring consistent product quality through recipe standardization and presentation standards. The role also involves inventory management, menu planning, equipment maintenance, and supporting special catering events. Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of cooking experience plus food service management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- SERV Safe certification or HACCP knowledge
- Ability to manage multiple food service points
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to ensure food quality and cost control
Job Qualifications
- At least 3 years of cooking experience plus food service management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Culinary Arts degree desired
- SERV Safe certification or HACCP knowledge required
- Experience with production systems preferred
Job Duties
- Manages production for 3 points of service: patient feeding, front of the house retail operations and catering
- Management of food cost, food safety and waste controls
- Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities
- Records inventory and estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
- Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
- Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
- Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques
- Assists with managing patient feeding and retail operations as needed
