Aramark Healthcare is currently seeking a dedicated Food Production Manager to join their team at the Children's National Medical Center located in Washington, D.C. This role is designed for a motivated individual passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and creating outstanding food experiences. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Food Production Manager will be responsible for hands-on leadership focused on team development, culinary expertise, safety protocols, and client relations. The position provides a valuable opportunity to influence the operations of a busy healthcare food service environment, where culinary skill and management expertise combine to enhance patient and guest satisfaction.

This position carries a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $95,000 per year and offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) retirement plans, paid time off, and other work-life resources. The Food Production Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining food quality standards by selecting and developing recipes, standardizing production methods, and ensuring proper food presentation and pricing. Additionally, this role requires oversight of kitchen personnel management, coordination of culinary activities, and enforcement of safety and sanitation standards within the kitchen. The Food Production Manager will also oversee special catering events and may provide culinary training or demonstrations to staff.

Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a related position
  • 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
  • culinary degree preferred
  • advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • experiential knowledge of management of people and or problems
  • oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise coordinate all related culinary activities
  • estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • ensure proper equipment operation maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and or demonstrates culinary techniques
