As a Food Production Chef at Aramark, you will be part of a dynamic culinary team where creativity and passion for food take center stage. This role offers the opportunity to experiment with various cuisines, flavors, and cooking techniques, working with fresh products and utilizing some of the best equipment available in the industry. In this role, chefs are encouraged to bring their culinary skills and innovative ideas to life, crafting dishes that not only meet but exceed client and customer expectations. Daily tasks include measuring, weighing, mixing, trimming, and preparing ingredients, as well as using a variety of cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming. The role demands attention to detail in food presentation, portion control, and adherence to food safety guidelines. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a cooking or food preparation role
- current food safety certification
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- physical ability to perform strenuous tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- adherence to safety policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Experience in cooking or a comparable role
- confirmed grasp of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking techniques, and compliance with food safety regulations
- food safety certification
- expertise in basic math operations and numerical counting proficiency
- proficiency in interpersonal communication skills, including both written and verbal communication
- ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
- operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
- properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- ensures security of company assets
