This is a vital role within Aramark's food service operations where you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of dishes following standardized recipes and production guidelines. Your expertise will ensure that meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and consistently to satisfy client expectations and regulatory requirements. Your day-to-day tasks will include setting up your workstation, measuring and preparing ingredients, safely using kitchen utensils and equipment such as ovens and mixers, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards. Job Qualifications

  • Experience in cooking or a comparable role
  • confirmed grasp of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking techniques, and compliance with food safety regulations
  • fulfillment of food safety certification requirements
  • expertise in basic math operations and numerical counting proficiency
  • proficiency in interpersonal communication skills including both written and verbal communication
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
