  • food safety certification
  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
  • physical ability to perform required tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods
  • strong communication skills
  • commitment to adherence to safety policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • experience in cooking or a comparable role
  • grasp of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking techniques, and compliance with food safety regulations including accurate food handling, cleanliness, and storage procedures
  • food safety certification
  • expertise in basic math operations and numerical counting proficiency
  • proficiency in interpersonal communication skills including both written and verbal communication
  • physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • ensure security of company assets
