As a Food Prep Worker at Aramark, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the preparation and portioning of food items meet the highest standards of quality and sanitation as outlined by Aramark's rigorous protocols. This position, which may be full-time or part-time depending on location, involves following standardized recipes and daily worksheets to prepare meals effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to maintain strict adherence to food safety standards, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control, to safeguard the health of customers and comply with regulatory requirements.

The Food Prep Worker is responsible for managing food inventory by rotating items to preserve freshness, correctly handling and storing leftovers with appropriate labeling and dating, and maintaining clean, organized workstations including refrigerators and kitchen equipment. Occupational safety is a priority; thus, you will be required to follow all safety policies and accident reporting procedures diligently. This role involves physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms may also be necessary for this position. In addition to technical skills, the role demands good communication abilities, basic math skills, and a cooperative attitude to work effectively with team members and supervisors. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum one year of experience in food preparation or related food service work
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions
  • physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • ability to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required
  • strong attention to detail and adherence to food safety standards
  • effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one-year prep work or food service-related work preferred
  • knowledge of food prep, proper knife handling, temperature control, and sanitation is helpful
  • must be able to read and write to facilitate communication with others
  • demonstrates basic math and counting skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares all food items using prep lists and standard Aramark recipes
  • follows proper food handling procedures
  • maintains accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness
  • manages leftover foods correctly including covering, labeling, dating, and storing according to Aramark standards
  • maintains clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas
  • ensures stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at the end of the shift including cleaning of kitchen equipment
  • maintains a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations
  • follows safety policies and accident reporting procedures
  • completes all required training
