Job Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 months to 1 year of retail store or food service work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
  • Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles including planning and organizing, resource management and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner
  • Ability to deal with customers, unanticipated problems or events using standard procedures
  • Ability to work as scheduled including arriving to work on time
  • Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment that may include hot or cold or beverage dispensers, grills, ovens or fry stations and other machines or tools
  • Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described
  • Ability to work in conditions including exposure to temperature extremes and occasional noise
  • Ability to work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months to one year of retail or food service experience
  • Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to handle customers and problem-solve within guidelines
  • Capability to work as scheduled and arrive punctually
  • Experience operating food service equipment
  • Physical ability to perform essential duties
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Proficient in suggestive selling and inventory management.

Job Duties

  • Complies with company guidelines for maximizing sales, profitability and customer service by ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed and priced correctly
  • Completes build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise
  • Maintains inventory by checking in delivery, pricing items, stocking merchandise according to schematic
  • Delivers outdated merchandise to Store Manager for disposal
  • Prepares displays by assembling, dating and price marking in-store displays
  • Rotates food items and monitors quality and freshness
  • Maintains food preparation areas and display cases
  • Assists in training new associates focusing on customer service
  • Monitors and organizes inventory to prevent stockouts
  • Uses and coaches suggestive selling techniques
  • Makes price changes as per company guidelines including signage placement
  • Provides prompt, courteous customer service
  • Greets and thanks customers
  • Resolves routine customer concerns
  • Reports to work on time and follows appearance code
  • Prepares and serves quality food and beverages
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment complying with procedures
  • Sweeps, mops, dusts and cleans store areas
  • Inspects facilities and equipment for safety and cleanliness
  • Cleans and sanitizes food service equipment
  • Notifies Store Manager of inventory discrepancies
  • Receives and verifies vendor deliveries
  • Follows guidelines for product breakage or spoilage
  • Supervises food prep staff in Store Manager’s absence
  • Coaches and trains employees
  • Adjusts staffing based on operational needs
  • Assists with employee feedback and counseling
  • Ensures compliance with laws, health codes, and company policies
  • Assists in maintaining a safe environment and protecting company assets
  • Reports incidents and unsafe conditions
  • Attends work-related meetings
  • Fosters cooperation among staff
  • Keeps accurate timekeeping records
  • May take inventory of supplies
  • Performs other duties assigned by Store Manager.
