Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 months to 1 year of retail store or food service work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
- Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles including planning and organizing, resource management and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner
- Ability to deal with customers, unanticipated problems or events using standard procedures
- Ability to work as scheduled including arriving to work on time
- Ability to accurately operate a variety of equipment that may include hot or cold or beverage dispensers, grills, ovens or fry stations and other machines or tools
- Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below
- Ability to work in the conditions described below
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months to 1 year of retail store or food service work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience
- Knowledge of basic business and customer service principles including planning, organizing, resource management and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly
- Ability to handle customers and unexpected problems using standard procedures
- Ability to work scheduled hours and arrive on time
- Ability to accurately operate equipment such as grills, ovens, fry stations, beverage dispensers
- Ability to perform essential physical duties
- Ability to work in the described work conditions
Job Duties
- Complies with company guidelines for maximizing sales, profitability and customer service by ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed and priced correctly
- Completes build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise
- Maintains inventory by checking in delivery, pricing items, stocking merchandise according to schematic
- Validates deliveries by verifying invoices, reviewing discrepancies with Store Manager, and delivers outdated merchandise to Store Manager
- Prepares displays by assembling, dating and price marking in-store displays
- Rotates food items, monitors quality and freshness to protect customers from illness
- Monitors and maintains food preparation area and display cases
- Assists training new associates on excellent customer service
- Monitors inventory to prevent stockouts
- Uses and coaches food service staff on suggestive selling techniques
- Makes price changes following Company or brand guidelines
- Provides prompt excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly and attentive manner
- Greets and thanks customers
- Resolves or assists in routine customer concerns within guidelines
- Reports to work on time and follows dress code
- Prepares and serves quality food and beverages
- Maintains safe and clean work environment including sweeping, mopping, dusting, washing windows and disposing trash
- Inspects facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness and working order
- Sanitizes and maintains food service equipment
- Notifies Store Manager of inventory or operation discrepancies
- Receives and signs vendor deliveries and verifies quality and quantity
- Follows guidelines for product breakage or spoilage
- Supervises food prep employees in Store Manager's absence
- Coaches and trains new employees
- Adjusts staffing based on customer traffic and operational needs
- Assists with employee counseling and feedback
- Follows all government laws, health and safety codes, inspection standards and Company policies
- Assists Store Manager in maintaining a safe environment
- Reports incidents related to safety, theft or other issues
- Attends job meetings
- Maintains intradepartmental workflow
- Complies with company policies
- Performs duties with minimal supervision
- Keeps accurate timekeeping records
- May take inventory of supplies and equipment
