The role available at the Macon location is a part-time position, with shifts available during days, evenings, and overnight. This position is ideally suited for individuals passionate about retail, food service, and creating a positive shopping experience for customers. As a vital member of the Circle K team, the employee will be responsible for a wide array of duties focusing on food merchandising, customer satisfaction, facility maintenance, financial and staffing controls, security, and administrative tasks.

The Food Merchandising responsibilities include ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, merchandise is properly stocked and displayed, and pricing is correct following company guidelines to maximize sales and profitability. The role involves inventory management, verifying delivery invoices, preparing in-store displays, rotating food items to maintain freshness and quality, and training new associates emphasizing customer service excellence.

Customer Satisfaction is a core component of this role, requiring prompt and courteous service, greeting customers, resolving customer concerns, and maintaining a professional appearance and punctuality. The employee will prepare and serve quality food and beverages, ensuring customer needs are met consistently.

Maintaining the Facility Condition is essential to achieving a safe and clean work environment. Duties include cleaning floors, windows, counters, displays, bathrooms, and ensuring the store’s equipment and facilities are safe, sanitary, and in proper working order.

Financial Controls involve notifying management of inventory discrepancies, receiving and verifying vendor deliveries, and adhering to company policies regarding product breakage or spoilage.

Staffing Controls require supervising food prep employees in the absence of the Store Manager, coaching and training new staff, managing customer traffic to minimize wait times, providing performance feedback, and assisting with employee counseling.

Internal and External Controls mandate compliance with all relevant laws, health and safety codes, and company policies. The employee will work with management to address any legal or safety questions and ensure all team members adhere to these standards.

Security Controls involve assisting in maintaining a safe environment for everyone in the store, protecting company assets, and reporting any incidents such as theft, injury, property damage, or unsafe practices immediately to the Store Manager.

Administratively, the employee will attend job-related meetings, maintain workflow by fostering teamwork, follow company policies, keep accurate time records, and may perform additional duties as assigned by the Store Manager. This role requires working with minimal supervision while maintaining high performance standards.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years old

  • 6 months to 1 year of retail store or food service work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Complies with company guidelines for maximizing sales, profitability and customer service by ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed and priced correctly
  • completes build-to's for ordering/purchasing merchandise
  • maintains inventory by checking in delivery, pricing items, stocking merchandise according to schematic
  • verifies deliveries by checking invoices and resolving discrepancies with Store Manager
  • prepares displays by assembling, dating and price marking in-store displays
  • rotates food items, monitoring quality and freshness to protect customers
  • monitors and maintains food prep areas and display cases
  • assists in training new associates with emphasis on excellent customer service
  • monitors and organizes inventory to prevent out-of-stock items
  • uses and coaches staff on suggestive selling techniques
  • makes price changes per company guidelines and places pricing signage
