Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • demonstrated ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures
  • experience supervising the work of others
  • working knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook
  • ability to monitor and maintain food service equipment
  • ability to work full-time in a correctional facility environment

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures
  • proven experience in supervising workers
  • working knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • basic Microsoft Office skills including Outlook
  • knowledge of cost control in food service operations
  • ability to operate and repair food service equipment

Job Duties

  • Supervises the activities of inmates in meal preparation and serving
  • trains inmates in kitchen policies and procedures
  • maintains high standards of food safety and sanitation
  • ensures quality and cost-efficient food operations
  • monitors and maintains operating and repair status of food service equipment
  • enforces compliance with food service regulations
  • manages food service documentation and reporting
