Job Description

Sodexo Schools is a renowned division of Sodexo, a global leader in quality-of-life services, specializing in managing food and facilities services for educational institutions. Sodexo prides itself on creating a better everyday for everyone by delivering high-quality and innovative food service solutions that enhance the well-being and development of students and staff alike. Partnering with K-12 school districts across the United States, Sodexo provides comprehensive food and nutrition programs designed to meet the diverse dietary needs of students while complying with regulatory standards and promoting healthy eating habits.

One of Sodexo's premier clients is the Waco Independent School District (Waco ISD) located in Waco, Texas. Waco ISD is a large and established school district serving 24 schools and approximately 15,000 students. As a substantial educational hub, Waco ISD benefits from Sodexo’s expert food service management to support an extensive and complex food and nutrition program customized to fit the unique requirements of a large student population. The program aims to provide nutritious, balanced meals aligned with federal nutrition standards and tailored to foster student health and academic success.

The role of Food Operations Manager 3 at Waco ISD is a high-profile leadership position within Sodexo Schools. This position entails overseeing the entire food operations across multiple school sites and ensuring operational excellence, innovation, and growth in the food program. The manager plays a pivotal role in coaching and developing a vibrant team of managers and hourly associates, leading them to deliver exceptional service consistently. This role involves orchestrating front-of-house operations including marketing and customer service, overseeing food production to guarantee quality and safety, and managing purchasing, receiving, and inventory control systems efficiently.

Ensuring compliance with the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines and USDA regulations is a critical aspect of this position. The Food Operations Manager 3 will also be responsible for driving sales growth, financial management including budgeting, food costing, and accounts payables/receivables, and fostering strong partnerships with district leadership, school administrators, and community stakeholders. The role demands a strategic leader who is adept at juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for student nutrition and community involvement.

The role offers a competitive salary that is fair and equitable, with compensation tailored to the candidate’s education and relevant experience. Beyond salary, Sodexo provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision care, 401(k) with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, and career growth opportunities such as tuition reimbursement. Sodexo is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment where diversity is embraced and every employee’s contributions are valued and respected.

Sodexo’s core mission extends beyond food service; it is about improving quality of life and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. The Food Operations Manager 3 will be part of a team that is dedicated to making a positive impact not only within the school district but also within the broader community, aligning with Sodexo’s promise to create a better life every day for all stakeholders involved.
