The company’s mission is to create a better everyday for everyone by providing service excellence and innovative solutions that improve health, wellness, and environmental impact.

The Food Operations Manager 2 role at Sodexo offers a unique opportunity to lead culinary operations within a warm and close-knit senior living community in North Carolina. Situated at a new senior living account serving approximately 50 residents, this role emphasizes leadership, culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering outstanding resident experiences. Managing daily food operations for one location, the Food Operations Manager 2 will be responsible for overseeing a team of about 7.5 full-time Sodexo team members, ensuring operational excellence and resident satisfaction.

This position is tailored for a culinary leader who values community engagement, consistency in service delivery, and takes pride in being part of a mission-driven environment focused on making a positive impact every day. The operational scope includes comprehensive management of purchasing, inventory control, cost management, and menu planning, all aimed at providing a consistently elevated dining experience aligned with Sodexo’s high standards. Strong client and resident relationship management is key to this role, along with ensuring full compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.

As a pivotal member of the senior living team, the manager will drive a resident-focused culinary experience that not only meets but exceeds expectations through leadership, coaching, and development of culinary staff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the challenge of managing a manageable, well-supported account and thrives in a meaningful, community-centered work environment. Sodexo offers competitive compensation that is fair and equitable, with salary offerings based on individual qualifications including education, skills, and experience. Along with a competitive salary, Sodexo provides a comprehensive benefits package to support employees’ health, wellness, and professional development.

This role demands a candidate with a strong food production background and significant experience in culinary or chef positions, preferably with exposure to senior living, healthcare, or similar residential dining settings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adeptness in client-facing communication, customer service, and possess expertise in purchasing, inventory management, and regulatory compliance concerning food safety. Sodexo’s commitment to inclusivity means fostering a collaborative leadership style that champions service and teamwork within a diverse and supportive environment.
