Sodexo, a global leader in food services and facilities management, is currently seeking a Food Operations Manager for Virginia Wesleyan College, which will transition to Batten University as of July 1, 2026. The Food Operations Manager at Sodexo will play a critical role in managing all dining service operations, catering, and conference service activities at Virginia Wesleyan College. This role is integral to upholding Sodexo's mission to create a better everyday experience for clients and customers through exceptional food services and operational excellence. The manager will oversee a comprehensive daily operation, ensuring the highest standards in food quality, safety, staff management, and customer relations.
The role involves direct oversight of a food service team, fostering strong community and client relationships on campus. As part of a well-established Sodexo team, the manager will be expected to demonstrate outstanding leadership capabilities, exhibit robust financial and analytical expertise, and have the agility to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational environment. Job Requirements
- Prior high volume dining experience
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest culinary standards
- Strong coaching and employee development skills
- A passion for food and innovation
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Two years management experience
- Two years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, or mall food courts

Job Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment
- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships to ensure account retention
- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes
- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory, and resources, and ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met
- Develops and implements plans and projects with defined objectives, methods, timetables, and budgets to support the client and Sodexo's strategic plan
- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, clients, and regulatory agencies
